I have 'Device Installation Timeout' when connecting my device.
If you are receiving a 'Device Installation Timeout' message when trying to connect your Cocoon Connect product, here are a few things you could check.
- Wi-Fi Password
If your Wi-Fi password is incorrect, you will not be able to connect to your device. The Cocoon Connect application is not able to advise if your network password has been entered incorrectly.
We recommend clicking the 'eye' icon in the application to ensure all password details are correct. - 2.4GHz Modem Frequency
Our Cocoon Connect products are only compatible with 2.4GHz frequency modems (not 5GHz frequency). Ensure your modem is a 2.4GHz frequency to ensure your device will connect.
Not all modems are 2.4GHz frequency, check your modem specifications to find out. - Signal Strength
Low or unstable signal strength may affect connectivity of your device. Try placing your Cocoon Connect product in closer proximity to your modem for the connection period. - Power to Device
Ensure your device is powered up correctly and the light/lights are illuminated. If your device is battery operated, try plugging your device in via micro USB cable to ensure the device has adequate power. - Pairing Mode
Make sure your device is correctly in pairing mode. This may require you to reset your device and wait for prompts. Often your device will say it is resetting to factory settings and then when it is ready for configuration. - QR Code Prompt Heard (cameras only)
When pairing a camera product that requires a QR code to be scanned, if you have not heard your prompt (beep or chime) from showing the QR code to the device, it will be unable to pair.
Try resetting your device as per 'Pairing Mode' above.
